At The Southport CoLAB, we empower educators with research-backed tools and strategies to create inclusive and effective learning environments. Our professional development focuses on three key areas: Structured Literacy, including Orton-Gillingham certification, Executive Function, and Assistive Technology. We offer a variety of training options, including online courses, on-site presentations, and school-based coaching, tailored to meet the unique needs of each educator. This ensures that our training is practical, flexible, and impactful.

Our professional learning opportunities are customized to support the specific needs of schools and educators, with an emphasis on ongoing support and reflective collaboration. Additionally, we design our sessions to equip both educators and families with the tools and knowledge necessary to support student learning, promoting success across all levels of the educational community.

Our approach goes beyond theory by providing actionable strategies and sustained support, ensuring that educators can effectively apply new knowledge in their classrooms. Our training model builds the skills necessary to implement research-based strategies successfully. We focus on equipping teachers with foundational knowledge and adaptable techniques, so the insights gained from our training integrate seamlessly with any existing curricular programs. By leveraging implementation science, we prepare educators to translate research into practice and sustain those practices over time.
